Cybersecurity Networking Certificate

 This program is great if you already have a college degree and are interested in changing into the cybersecurity field. It is also good if you are working in IT and wish to transition into the cybersecurity specialty. If you have any of the certifications this program prepares you for, you can get course credit for them.

Why study Cybersecurity Networking here?

Nashua Community College has a networking lab which contains Cisco routers and switches for student use. Each team of students works on their own pod of networking equipment for practical hands-on experience. The school is part of the Cisco Networking Academy program which gives us access to Cisco’s world-class networking classes. Faculty teaching the cybersecurity classes have many years of experience in the cybersecurity field.

Program Goals

Upon the completion of the degree in Cybersecurity Networking, graduates will be able to:

  1. Set up and secure a small to medium size network.
  2. Recognize the potential security threats facing modern network.
  3. Secure network environment using firewalls, VPNs and other tools.
  4. Monitor for signs of intrusion and handle incident response.
  5. Perform configuration on routers, switches, and hardware security appliances.
  6. Perform basic system administration including management of system accounts
  7. Apply critical thinking skills in order to resolve troubleshooting and security issues.
