On Tuesday, April 29, Nashua Community College partnered with New Hampshire Employment Security to host a job and resource fair. This event connected job seekers with employers, community resources, and career support.
The event was a huge success with over 60 business & industry and non-profit organizations and 293 job seekers in attendance.
NCC Admissions & Enrollment Supervisor, Mackenzie Murphy, collaborated with Donna Long and Kate Lapierre, Assistant Director, Employment Service Bureau/Operations to put this event together. “Community is in our name and it’s our role to meet our community needs and advance our workforce. It’s incredibly inspirational to see individuals and prospective students realize who they can become by talking with community resources and employers about the amount of opportunity that is at their fingertips” stated Murphy.
Employers such as BAE were in attendance with a consistent line of job seekers waiting to speak with them throughout the day. In partnership with BAE Systems, NCC developed the Microelectronics Boot Camp to meet workforce demand in the tech sector. With a 97% job placement rate, the program continues to launch careers and support NH’s growing industry. The most recent class, Cohort 36, graduated April 25.
Other business & industry partners in attendance included; EasterSealsNH, Fidelity Investments, Hitchiner Manufacturing, The PLUS company, NH Dept. of Corrections, NH Army National Guard, St. Joseph Hospital, Student Transportation of America, Safran Defense & Space Inc, Crane Currency, AutoZone, Albany Engineered Composites, The Nash Casino, US Postal Service, Town of Amherst, Town of Milford (Emergency Services, and more.) The list could go on.
Nashua Community College looks forward to hosting another potential event in the Fall with NHES and another Career Fair next Spring!
