4. Admissions Decision
Upon satisfactory completion of the steps listed above and the receipt of all required documents, you will be notified of an admissions decision within 2 to 3 weeks. If you are accepted to NCC, you will receive a letter of acceptance and a request for a 100$ non-refundable tuition deposit.
5. $100 Non-Refundable Tuition Deposit
International students must pay for a non-refundable tuition deposit of $100.
Payment options include: Check, money order sent with your application documents, or you can contact our Financial Services Office at 603-578-8902 to pay with a credit card. Please note a 2.75% convenience fee will be charged for credit card payments.
6. Course Registration
Once your tuition deposit is paid, your advisor will meet with you for course registration.
7. Issuing the 1-20
Once the tuition deposit is received, NCC will issue you a Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility). The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requires Form I-20 for entry into the U.S. on a student F-1 visa. The I-20 shows your eligibility for student status. A valid I-20 must be kept at all times during your period of study in the US.
Before a Certificate of Eligibility for an F-1 visa can be issued, applicants must have submitted all documents required and be accepted into a full-time program (12 credits or more per semester). If you are already in the U.S., a change of status may be necessary.
8. Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee
Before you visit an embassy or consulate office to apply for the F-1 visa, you must pay the I-901 fee. Here is the info about the fee: https://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901
9. F-1 Visa
International students must bring the Form I-20, your passport, acceptance letter, proof of your SEVIS fee payment, and documentation of your financial support as part of your visa interview. To apply for an F-1 Visa, visit the American embassy or consular office. You can review information about the student visa application process on the Study in the States website at https://studyinthestates.dhs.gov/students.
10. Health Insurance
Healthcare in the U.S. is expensive. You’re required to submit proof of health insurance upon arrival to the college. This information is not required with your applications. You can download a list of U.S.-based insurance companies here. This is just a sample of companies that provide insurance services.
11. Arrive to NCC
International Students may arrive in the US no more than 30 days prior to the program start date listed in your I-20. You need to report your arrival to the college’s PDSO (Principle Designated School Official) and submit items such as copies of your F-1 visa, proof of health insurance, and verification of your physical US address and contact information no later than the first week of the semester.
When you arrive, Admissions will help you sign up for an orientation.
