Accuplacer Placement Testing at Nashua Community College

Nashua Community College (NCC) uses multiple measures to place students into appropriate courses and programs. In some cases, you may be asked to take the College Board Accuplacer test to further assess your English skills. This is typically recommended by an Enrollment Specialist or Academic Advisor.

About the Accuplacer Test

  • Format: Untimed and proctored
  • Testing Options: In-person at NCC or remotely from home
  • Required for: ESL students
  • International Students:  Must submit their TOEFL scores and do not take the Accuplacer for placement

Taking the Accuplacer Remotely (Fees Apply) 

  1. Complete the form.
  2. Select “From Home (Remote Voucher will be sent)”.
  3. You’ll receive a testing voucher for the Accuplacer English Test and instructions from Accuplacer within 3 business days.
  4. Testing is conducted via Meazure Learning’s Live+ ProctorU platform.
  5. Remote testing is available anytime except Sundays from 7 PM to midnight.
 

Remote Testing Fees (Paid to ProctorU at Registration)

    • Proctor Fee: $29.50
    • On-Demand Options:
      • Take it now (<24 hours): +$12
      • Take it soon (24–72 hours): +$8
      • Schedule 72+ hours in advance: No extra charge

If you are uncertain whether you need to take the Accuplacer placement test, please contact the NCC Admissions office at 603-578-8908 or by email at [email protected].

Students must self-identify a learning need that may require testing accommodations before taking the ACCUPLACER placement test. 

If you had an IEP, 504 Plan, or a documented disability in high school, you may qualify for testing accommodations.  On the ACCUPLACER Request Form, please answer the following question:

 Select “Yes” and check your email for further instructionsfor completing the ACCUPLACER Testing Accommodations Request Form and submitting the required documentation.

We are committed to providing equal access to testing for all individuals. Translation services are not an approved accommodation. The ACCUPLACER placement test must be taken in English.

NOTE: 

  • The ACCUPLACER test is untimed, so you may take as long as needed.
  • You may complete different sections on separate days.
  • The test must be completed in English; translation services are not approved as accommodations.
