To utilize Post-9/11 GI Bill ® education benefits, please follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Apply for admission to NCC
You must be admitted to an approved degree or certificate program. VA educational benefits cannot be paid to non-matriculated students. Contact Admissions at 603-578-8908 or apply here.
Step 2 – Apply for VA Educational Benefits
Nashua Community College is approved by the NHSAA Office to administer VA Educational Benefits for eligible students. The VA makes eligibility determinations and students that believe they may be eligible for benefits under the GI Bill® should seek determination from the VA. Apply here.
Step 3 – Submit your Certificate of Eligibility
If the VA determines that you are eligible for Post 9/11 GI Bill ® the VA will issue you a Certificate of Eligibility. Email a copy of your COE to [email protected].
Students receiving Post 9/11 GI Bill® must provide a Certificate of Eligibility to their college’s School Certifying Official. In addition, students must make a payment arrangement for any tuition and fees not covered by their military benefit by the tuition due date each semester. Once these two requirements are met, students receiving military benefits will be considered in good financial standing.
If a student’s eligibility for Post 9/11 GI Bill® should change at any point during a semester, the student will be responsible to make payment arrangements for any balance that may be due as a result of the change.
The institution will not impose a penalty, or require the beneficiary to borrow additional funds to cover tuition and fees due to late payments from the VA. The college will allow up to 90 days from the date the beneficiary provides COE to receive payment from the VA. During this 90-day timeframe, the beneficiary should not experience any interruption in educational services such as being withdrawn from their course for non-payment.

Step 5 – Assessment
Submit an official copy of your Joint Service or Community College of the Air Force transcript, as well as official transcripts from all previously attended postsecondary institutions. All transcripts will be evaluated by your academic advisor for transfer credits. Course requirements that have been satisfied by transfer credits cannot be certified to the VA.
Step 6- Advising and Registration
Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor for class registration. Your academic advisor will review accepted transfer credits and assist in course selections required for your selected degree program.
Step 7- Payment
If your eligibility is less than 100%, you will need to make payment arrangements for the portion of tuition and fees not covered by the VA. Payment is due two weeks before each semester begins. Contact the Business Office at 603-578-8902 or review payment options.
In addition, Follett Access textbook charges are not covered by the VA. If you are enrolled in a course utilizing the Follett Access program, you must make arrangements with the Business Office to pay for the Follett Access charges.

To utilize VR&E education benefits, please follow the steps below:
Step 1 – Apply for Veteran Readiness and Employment
Nashua Community College is approved by the NHSAA Office to administer VA Educational Benefits for eligible students. The VA makes eligibility determinations and students that believe they may be eligible for benefits under the VR&E program should seek determination from the VA. apply here.
If the VA determines that you are eligible for VR&E, your VR&E Counselor will submit an authorization for payment (VAF 28-1905) to the College on your behalf.
The authorization will outline which program or classes are approved through VR&E. Please make sure you connect with your VR&E counselor prior to course registration to ensure you know what has been approved for payment.
Students receiving VR&E must provide a valid VAF 28-1905 to their college’s School Certifying Official. In addition, students must make a payment arrangement for any tuition and fees not covered by their military benefit by the tuition due date each semester. If your VR&E counselor has approved specific courses, you do not need to apply for admission. Instead, submit the online course registration form and skip the remaining steps.
