Professor Douglas Mitchell has been teaching at Nashua Community College since January of 2023.

Professor Mitchell holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Maine, an MAS in Human Factors Aviation Systems from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, and an MA in Military History from Norwich University.  He spent a 20-year career in the US Air Force flying various aircraft as a navigator and working aviation related military acquisition positions. It was during his military service when he first started teaching as an adjunct professor at Embry Riddle.  After retirement, he worked for many years in the Defense Aviation industry and holds a Professional Program Management certification.  His adjunct teaching continued, also teaching at Manchester Community College.  Currently, he is the Aviation Department Chair at Nashua Community College where he supports programs in Aviation Maintenance, Aviation Business and Air Traffic Control.

Professor Mitchell teaches a variety of aviation courses, in person and online.  He loves aviation and enjoys connecting with students who share his love of aviation.  He is also a college hockey fan and season ticket holder of his undergrad alma mater’s team….Go Black Bears!
