Why choose Health Science?
The Associate in Science in Health Science has been designed for students who have a desire to work in the health care industry or allied health field. Complete your general education courses that are required for nursing, public health and other healthcare programs. At the end of the first year, students will have the option of transferring to another associate degree program to complete their course work in a specific field or continue on to receive their associate degree in Health Science. The second year can be flexible for students to choose courses that would then transfer to a four year college for a degree in Public Health or field of their choice.

NCC offers different options to meet your goals. If you plan is to enroll in the NCC nursing program, you can follow the Health Science profile or the Pre-Nursing pathway. The Pre-Nursing pathway has specific criteria, which if met, will give you priority consideration for acceptance to our nursing program. If your interest lies with Public Health, we have a pathway to the University of Massachusetts – Lowell- for a bachelor’s degree in Public Health offering a track in Public Health Informatics Technology. Program Outcomes:
- The student will communicate effectively and fluently; read with comprehension; listen speak and write competently.

Students who meet NCC’s general admission requirements are able to enroll in the Health Science program. Ask the Health Science advisor about the Pre-Nursing pathway and Public Health pathway requirements or view the pathway.
Health Science Pre-Nursing Pathway
Health Science students that successfully complete the sequence of courses below, maintain at least a 2.8 CGPA, earn acceptable TEAS scores, provide references, submit their application for the nursing program and complete all nursing admission requirements by the February 1, 2024 deadline, will be eligible for priority acceptance to the nursing program.
