This is the second cohort to complete the 12-week Medical Assistant Training class at Nashua Community College, made possible through a collaboration between Nashua Community College, Southern NH Health, and ApprenticeshipNH.
A medical assistant is a health care professional who assists doctors in medical offices, clinics, and hospitals.
Congratulations to Medical Assistant Graduates:
Sabrina Turner, Lauren Soucy, Cameron Scott Labbe, Madison Leigh Gillis, and Ashley Linoshka Crespo
“We’re the people that bridge the gap between patients and providers,” said Lauren Soucy, CCMA, in her student address for the Medical Assistant group. Soucy congratulated the grads, and turned it over to Manchester Community College’s LNA (Licensed Nursing Assistant) student speaker, Rosangelis Gonzalez.
Gonzalez just graduated from Salem High School two months ago, and went straight into the 6-week LNA training, which prepares students to take their state licensing exam. “I had the pleasure of meeting seven great friends,” she said of her classmates, and thanked them for their support, “It was a great class.”
The LNA training was supported by a partnership between Southern NH Health, Manchester Community College, and NCC as the host campus.
LNA Graduates: Roberta Aguayo, Jocelyne Arseneault, Kelyn Campbell, Rose Gonzalez, Alyssa Johnston, Alexandra Labrosse, Trinity Quinto, Michael Velez
Southern NH Health hosted the graduation, and President & CEO Colin T. McHugh kicked off the event by thanking families for supporting the graduates, and urging grads to practice self-care throughout their careers in healthcare.
NCC President Lucille Jordan shared a message with graduates, “This just the beginning of your journey. Let your passion for helping others guide you in everything you do. The health care industry is not just a career, it is a calling. So, know the real learning begins when you step into your new roles. Embrace every opportunity to learn and grow. Never stop asking questions, seek out mentors, and push yourself to be the best healthcare professional you can be.”
Kim Eckenrode, Career and Technical Education Pathways Director at NCC, applauded students’ hard work, “You have all pushed yourselves outside your comfort zone during your programs – and I know you will continue to do so during your new journey in Allied Health.”
Hub Coordinator Tracey Jackson from Apprenticeship NH, Bill Beaulieu of WorkReady NH, and Viktoriya Dribinskaya from Southern NH Health shared encouraging words with the grads and families.
The collaboration of schools, industry, and community agencies will continue offering the LNA and Medical Assistant programs for future healthcare workers. The next Medical Assistant program begins September 9 at NCC.
