Aliyar Mousavi is a full-time Professor of chemistry and environmental science at Nashua Community College.  Having received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1998 and Long Island University (Brooklyn Campus) in 2004, respectively, he graduated from The University of New Mexico with a Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2010. 

He did his Ph.D. research on heavy metal complexation in natural waters.  In 2011, he joined Nashua Community College, where he teaches general chemistry, chemistry for health sciences, and environmental science courses.  His special research interest is mercury chemistry.
