Admission Requirements for International Students

Application Form & Fees:

You must complete an application form and pay the standard $20 application fee. An additional $100 international student admission fee is also required. International applications must be received 90 days in advance of expected entrance date and are reviewed as received.

Academic Records:

You must provide an English translation of all secondary and postsecondary academic records. A credential evaluation of all postsecondary academic records is required.

Test of English as a Foreign Language:

If your native language is not English, you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam and earn a score of 500 or better; a score of 173 or better on the computer-based test; or a score of 61 or higher on the internet-based TOEFL.

Please visit the TOEFL website for more information on the exam and where the TOEFL exam is given in your country. If you are currently in the United States seeking a student visa, NCC may waive the TOEFL requirement and administer the Accuplacer Placement Test.

Affidavit of Financial Support:

You must submit an affidavit of financial support form. Funds must be stated in US dollars, and all supporting documentation must be included. Dollar amounts available in the sponsor's bank account should be cover a minimum of two years expenses (out-of-state tuition, fees, room and board, books, and miscellaneous expenses).

Documents:

You must submit copies of current passport and immigration documents including current visa and Duration of Status (D/S) card.

Upon satisfactory completion of the steps listed above and the receipt of all required documents, you will be notified of an admissions decision within 2 to 3 weeks. If you are accepted to NCC, you will receive a letter of acceptance and a request for a nonrefundable advanced tuition deposit of $100 and a $30 orientation fee.

Once the tuition deposit is received, we will forward you Form I-20 (Certificate of Eligibility). The U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) requires Form I-20 for entry into the U.S. on a student F-1 visa. You will need to bring Form I-20 to the American embassy or consulate office in your home country to get the F-1 visa.

Before a Certificate of Eligibility for an F-1 visa can be issued, applicants must have submitted all documents required and be accepted into a full-time program (12 credits or more per semester). If you are already in the U.S., a change of status may be necessary.

Housing

Nashua Community College does NOT provide on-campus housing. The NCC Housing Connection, however, does offer a bulletin board service for students seeking housing. The bulletin board features ads from local residents who have apartments, rooms, or houses for rent; ads from current and future NCC students who are looking for roommates; ads from area apartment complexes; and links to local newspapers to search the classifieds.
